Happy Late B-day Mom!

Although this post is late my Mom's b-day & her importance to me is not forgotten! I meant to blog the night of her b-day dinner but had either food poisoning or the worst stomach bug known to man! I spent the night of her B-day dinner and the following day sicker than I have ever been close to being in my entire life. I lost 7 pounds in less than 2 days...which would be awesome but it is all back already!

Anyway, I have the best mom anyone could ever ask for. I have been so lucky and blessed my entire life to have a mom who cares like mine does. She has stuck through a lot with me and has always been my biggest fan and encourager. She has had so much faith in me through all of my schooling and I don't know what I would do without her. The best part of my relationship with my mom now is that she is one of my best friends! I love being all grown up and having that kind of relationship with my mom! We have so much fun together and I know we have years to come of awesome memories! I Love You Mom!!!!! Happy Birthday!!!

On a different note, our time in Houston is coming to an end. I am excited to get back into the swing of things in Lubbock & finish this end stretch of grad school! I am also excited that as of March 2010 I will be done with ALL my comps and Licensing exams! Oh what a glorious day that will be when I am Kayla Agan, MS CCC-SLP! But I am going to miss my family like crazy!!!

Speaking of grad school.....Lance is looking into applying for an internship with the US Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs. This is an AMAZING opportunity and could ultimately lead to him working for the US Olympic Committee! However, if he gets this Internship he will have to move to Colorado Springs in January-May. This means I will be in Lubbock by myself for my last semester & it is quite the depressing thought. I really want Lance to do this if it is what he is supposed to do, however I am going to have a hard time. We won't even find out if he gets this internship for several months, however we could use all the prayers we can get! This is going to be a hard decision if it comes down to it. It's funny how life is.....so far in our marriage we keep having to make decisions that require us to move farther and farther away from the people we love. I know God will bless us wherever we are, but I have to admit that when we got married and moved to Houston I really thought we would be there for a long time. Maybe we will maybe we won't but I am starting to think I am going to have to adopt the idea "blossom where your planted" b/c I may be being "planted" in some strange places over the next several years.

Ok I have rambled on long enough.....thanks for the prayers in advance!

Life lately.....

I have been a bit of a liar lately and said I would post soon & definitely did not post soon. I have been working until 5:30 and teaching swimming lessons until 7ish so I have been kinda neglecting my blogging. But summer has been fun! I have gotten to spend lots of time with family, friends and my hubby which is nice! I never get to see him in the school year b/c we are super busy so it is nice that we have been able to see each other so much lately.

My goals for the rest of the summer are to.....finish Harry Potter, go on a road trip to see Betho, go on a road trip to see Rox, go to the Woodlands to see my cousin Jamie, get tan, finish my daily bible study book, go to The Breakfast Klub & George Ranch with my Dad (random I know but I love George Ranch), appeal my traffic ticket (uggh!!), and lost 5 pounds! I have 5 weeks so I hope I can reach my goal!

I will leave you with a pic Jamie, Betho & I at lunch at Lupe's last Sunday. Josiah (Jamie & Jay's baby) had his first tortilla and loved it! He looks SOOO cute eating it!
Have a great rest of the weekend! :)

Post to come soon!

I have been a terrible blogger lately. I have been working until 5 and then teaching swimming lessons until about 7:30, so I have gotten a bit behind. I am headed off to have "girls night" with some of my favs from collge! That's one of the great things about Houston...some of my best friends live here.

Anyway, check back tomorrow or the next day for a new post....I promise to post soon!

Lots of events in one big post! Here we go.....

I have been a terrible blogger lately but have had kind of a lot going on. I moved from Lubbock to Houston last weekend for my summer internship and just finished my first week! It is super laid back and I love it! Lance had to stay back a week, but is getting here today! I am so happy and have missed him TONS! But I have also been having lots of fun with the fam! This blog is a big compilation of stuff I never got to posting about so here is one big post!
Enjoy. :)
Kara & Ben's Wedding: Two weekends ago my best friend Kara from college go married! It was such a pretty wedding & she was beyond beautiful! I mean 1,000 times prettier than models in wedding magazines! Her dress, shoes, jewelery, hair, makeup, everything was AMAZING! For those that don't know Kara & I met at ACU and lived together in the dorms! We both met our husbands around the same time at ACU & it was so fun to see her & Ben finally get married! Below are wedding, bachelorette party & rehearsal dinner pics!
I put this one up so you could see the flower in here hair! She had matching silver jewelery & shoes too!

Feeding each other cake! SO cute!

Cake pic....it was part lemon, part tres leches!

My eyes are closed here but it is all I had. Aren't the dresses so unique and pretty!

Rehearsal dinner at Papasitos! Delicious of course!

The beautiful bride at her lingerie/bachelorette party a few months before!

The Lake Trip: Over Memorial Day weekend we had our traditional "float the river" college friends reunion! We all stayed at Betho's apartment in Round Rock and we went and floated the river that weekend. We also ventured into Austin one day for a Delicious brunch and some awesome shopping that I couldn't afford but did anyway! Oh well you can splurge once a year right! Us at Brunch!

More Brunch photos....I love these girls SOOO much!

Tragedy! We all bought our own tubes this time after years of wasting money renting the nasty communal tubes. Well, our air pump didn't work & we had to blow them up ourselves! You should have seen the spectacle! People were definitely laughing at us and pointing. It was also so incredibly difficult to blow up a tube like that. But in the end we all succeeded...barely! Check out Lauren in this one (the one in the hat)!!

Betho is a little better than Kara & I at this point!
Father's Day: Last weekend we headed to Roundrock for Father's Day & had a GREAT time! We went out to eat and went to a Roundrock Express game. My mom wasn't feeling the heat so much...I think she much prefers Minute Maid Park with the A/C but we all had fun in spite of the heat! My Dad is awesome & the older I get I realize more & more how incredibly lucky I am to come from such a great family. My parent's have done so much for us and we have had the chance to do so many amazing things over the years with my Mom & Dad! They care so much about us and have put so much time & energy into being the best parent's in the world over the past 24 years! Here are some pics from our Father's Day weekend! We missed you Lance...sorry you missed out! :(

Betho, Cody & Dad at the Express Game! We got tons of free junk! Weird how you get all excited to get a nasty free shirt you will never wear!

Us at Betho's for the our traditional Father's Day lunch of Hot Dogs & Cherry Pie. YUMMY! (note our less than attractive free shirts from the game)
The Fam at dinner before the baseball game.

That's all for now...if you read to the end you are way too nice! :) Have a great weekend! :)

Hot Couple!

Betho & Cody took some post engagement pics b/c they didn't really have time to do any before their wedding! They are amazing. A girl from ACU that a lot of people are starting to know about, Erin took the pics & I am obsessed....she captured them so well! Lance & I are going to have to do this! It may have to be after grad school....is 3 years post wedding to "post" for post engagement pics? I hope not!! Take a look at this hot couple!

2 year anniversary! WOW!

Yesterday Lance & I celebrated our two year anniversary! I can't believe we have been married for 2 years. It seems like yesterday that I was the Kojie NuNu Mom, newly engage trying to plan a wedding and keep up with 60 pledges. Those were the days!

I don't want to embarrass Lance by obsessing over him on my blog so I will refrain, BUT I will say I am reminded every day how incredibly lucky I am. I don't think there is a night I go to bed without realizing how lucky I am. I don't take it for granted that I have been so incredibly blessed to have Lance in my life. I can't imagine what my life would be like if we hadn't met.
We celebrated by going to a yummy Hibachi place & eating lots of delicious food. We don't really go out to eat anymore now that we are in grad school so I was really excited about this meal! After dinner we went went to a movie & that was fun too!
We promised each other that we wouldn't do gifts for things while we were in grad school.....HOWEVER, Lance broke the rules & got me a new digital camera (mine broke) and Harry Potter 6! He knows me so well. I did feel like a loser though b/c I only got him a card & a box of Sour Patch Kids. He didn't mind though.....that's how he wanted it!

Night we got engaged! Such a happy night!!!!!

Even happier night!!

One year down!!

Last night! Two AMAZING years!

LOVE HER!

I am pretty sure she has been around forever....but I have never watched her show before really until this week. Since my summer school class got postponed until Monday, I have been watching a lot of food network! Anyway, my very favorite show is Sandra Lee's Semi Homemade meals! She is a genius, I mean why make something from scratch when you can purchase half of it and make it taste homemade. PLUS all her recipes are on a budget so her stuff is cheap too! I am loving her show & have watched it everyday this week.http://www.semihomemade.com/ I ordered her book today & am hoping it helps me with my cooking. I like cooking ok but hate spending more than like an hour in the kitchen cooking! I am hoping this book gives me some ideas....b/c I think I am getting to the point where we are eating the same 5 things over and over and over!
