Lately....

So life around here hasn't been too bad lately. It is spring break and I have found myself with less time that I would have liked to get stuff done, but it has still be a nice break!

Last Thursday we left for Dallas and had such a good time! We stayed with my friend Heather Thursday night and did all kinds of fun stuff Friday. Then Friday night we met up with Brian & Roxanne for a b-day dinner at Maggiano's (they were sooooo sweet and came to Dallas for the b-day weekend). However, we got stuck in traffic and were an hour late!! I felt terrible and we didn't even get to eat until after 9:00!

Saturday we went to a St. Patrick's day street fair thing in Dallas and it was CRAZY! There were tons of people there all decked out in all kinds of green craziness! By the end of the afternoon we were pretty decked out as well. Betho & I somehow acquired face tattoos, beads and some nasty green wigs! It was a fun and interesting experience!

After the parade we met up with my parent's and had a little b-day party in our hotel room at the Embassy Suites & it was soooo much fun and they even brought mt fav cupcakes all the way from Houston! Yuuuummmmy! We went to dinner that night with them and then played cards for hours with them that night when we got done. I hadn't seen my parents since Christmas so I was soooo happy they came!

Sunday after the fam left we went to Six Flags and had SO SO SO much fun! I have been wanting to do this for over 5 years so I am really happy we got to! It was my b-day gift from Lance and I had the best day! I rode every ride which is NOT like me and even rode the huge scary wooden one! However, I must say that ride is rough! I have bruises ALL over my hips from being shaken around in that thing! The last ride of the day was this EXTREMELY scary one that dropped STRAIGHT down in the beginning and I freaked out and started crying as we were going up! I am such a loser I know but it was terrifying. However, I lived and it was actually really fun!

So that's what has been going on around here. I am trying to get school work done today b/c I am heading to Houston tomorrow for Kara's shower.

Spring Break Fun! (and cute commercial)

I was reading a friends blog and she posted her favorite commercial! It made me think of my ALL time favorite commercial! It is the same cute little kid that did the infamous "kicked him in the penith" commercial. It is soooooooooo cute and funny! I hope it will make you laugh & smile! It never fails!

On a different note......IT'S SPRING BREAK FOR ME NOW!! Although I have a lot of work to do over the break I don't have school for 11 days! YAY. I haven't been able to make my fondant cupcakes that I promised to make and post but they are coming!

Tomorrow we are off to Dallas for a Birthday weekend with the family & I am super excited. Then back to Lubbock for a few days of "responsibility" I have some projects to do.....then I am off to Houston for Kara's wedding shower! I am really excited....I haven't been there at all for any wedding stuff and I have felt like I was missing out so bad! Kara was my roomie in college and I so miss our life in the dorms and at ACU! Best Times Ever! I know she is going to wish she had a different Maid of Honor by the end of this whole thing! BUT I LOVE YOU KARA! SORRY I LIVE SO FAR AWAY! But I am so happy I am going to be able to be there! I can't wait for all the wedding fun to begin!

Test time!

Hi blog readers......I don't have much time to blog today b/c I have the scariest midterm I have ever had in my life. I have studying TONS so it should be ok but if you are reading this and would pray for my test tomorrow at 9:00 that would be great! I figured I could use all the extra prayers I could get! We only have one test in this class so it is muy importunate! Thanks! :)

Count down to six flags & Birthday fun with my Twin!

2 midterms.......1 test.......1 case study.......1 project.......THEN WE ARE OFF TO DALLAS TO GO TO SIX FLAGS! I know this may not sound fun to everyone but I have been wanting to go to six flags for over 5 years! I love rides and have been itching to get on a huge scary roller coaster for a long long time! I just got out my planner and its 14 days until we leave and I am really excited! Plus.....when we get back I only have one test left except for my finals. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel for the first year of grad school! Everyone tells me that next year is MUCH better and that you mostly just see clients and don't have many actual classes. That is music to my ears! I am sooooooo excited!

Plus, Betho is meeting us in Dallas to go to six flags & then the rest of the fam is meeting us for birthday fun on Saturday! I was DEPRESSED b/c I thought this year was going to be the first year Betho & I didn't spend our birthday together....so I am so glad she is going to make it to Dallas! I found these pics of our 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd birthdays! Such fun memories!

Stress & Cupcakes

Oh my goodness I am such a stressed out crazy women right now! I took a test last week & felt HORRIBLE about it! I mean I was convinced without a shadow of a doubt that I made somewhere between a 30-50! I am not kidding I walked out of the test and thought to myself...."Well this will be interesting! I wonder what career I will choose after I fail out of Tech!" NOT a good feeling, especially b/c I missed out on a lot of fun stuff....aka Roxanne's baby shower.....in order to study for this test! Anyway, all that to say that today was the big day that we were getting our test grades back! The class wasn't until 12:30 and as the morning dragged on I started to feel sicker and sicker as I was getting so incredibly nervous about this grade! Anyway I drug myself into the classroom and was just sitting there feeling sick. ( I know I sound like I am being dramatic but I am not exaggerrating at all! I was ill!). Anyway, I got my test back first b/c I am high in the alphabet and did ok!!!!!!!!!!!!! Praise the Lord Hallelujah I am still in grad school & could not be more surprised about this! I cannot wait for the day that I don't live test to test, constantly sleep deprived with a permanent stomach ache!

On a different note, it may be b/c I am just desperate for an outlet admist my busy busy schedule, but I have realized I LOVE baking cakes & cupcakes! I even signed up to take some cake decorating classes in Houston this summer while I am in town doing my internship! I am way to busy with school right now to do anything extra but I have found that when I have time I love baking and have actually become pretty creative when it comes to creating fun desserts in the kitchen! I saw these cupcake online and am going to make them after I finish my midterms this semester! They have fondant icing (which is one of the classes I signed up for) and I thought I would be so proud of myself if I could pull it off! I would have never thought I would be someone that loved to bake but I find myself laying in bed at night imagining all the different kinds of desserts that I could create! Here are the cupcakes that I am going to attempt next weekend! Cute Huh!? Fondant taste kinda nasty to me but they are so cute to look at that I thought I would give them a try! Now if I could just transfer this hobby to cooking actual meals for Lance & I that would be a true success! However, I know cooking is NOT a hobby of mine! I am hoping that after graduate school my "wife skills" come back! B/c as of right now we both totally fend for ourselves and are lucky if we even eat the same thing for dinner! :) Sorry Lance!

Happy Valentines Day!

Today has been a great day! First I slept until 11:00! I got up at 5:30am Friday morning and studied ALL day so that I could have today off & it was definitely worth it! After my 11 hours of sleeping Lance and I got up & went shopping (which was the first time I have been shopping since we have been in Lubbock) and he even endured Forever 21 while I found some really cute stuff that I am super excited about! Lance found some amazing deals today at Old Navy too & got lots of great stuff! Tonight we had some friends over & I made a strawberry cake in the shape of a heart and it was perfect for the day! Overall, it has just been such a fun day getting to spend all day with Lance & not worry about school for a day! I have so much fun with Lance & can't wait until every weekend is study free & we can just hang out!

On a different note I am seriously depressed that I am not able to be in Houston for Roxanne's baby shower! I have a midterm Monday & Wednesday and I just couldn't figure out a way to get to Houston for the shower. I only have 1 test the entire semester in this class & I was terrified that if I didn't get home until really late Sunday night that I would bomb my test Monday. But I am super depressed and will definitely be thinking about you all day Rox!!!

Ok that's all....I am off to bed for a fun long day of studying tomorrow. I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!

These are a few of my favorite things......

Rox tagged me to do the 10 things about me thing so here it is:

1. I watch Friends on DVD almost everyday when I get home from school, I have the entire series and NEVER get tired of it! (I'm actually watching right now)

2. I love queso and cheeze-its and could eat both every day (not together of course). I really wish they weren't so bad for you!

3. I really miss living in a big city & am starting to really feel the "distance" between us and so many people we love!

4. I've never really thought of myself as an "academic" person and considering I'm in a pretty intense graduate program, sometimes I find myself wondering "What was I thinking!?

5. Lance & I switch off sleeping in our bedroom & the guest room. We just can't decide which bed we like best and which room we like best. The funny thing about the guest room is that it is a twin with a pull out so we have been sleeping on 2 twins pushed together for almost 2 weeks and almost always end up squished on one twin by the morning!

6. In order to save a little money I started grocery shopping at walmart & can't wait to stop! It is not a pleasant experience in my opinion!

7. I love being married and doing new things with Lance! We have just as much fun together now as we did in college! It's great!

8. I feel so lucky to have a twin sister. Me & Betho like doing ALL the same things and have so much fun every time we are together! I miss having her around so much and can't wait until we live in the same city again!

9. I love all things lavender and miss my lavender room I had in college. When we get a house someday I am painting an entire room lavender. And I don't mean like a bedroom, closet or bathroom, I want a BIG room painted lavender.

10. I have not paid one bill or as much as glanced at our accounts online since we quit our jobs! Lance does it all for us and I live blissfully in the dark!
