Easter Camping Trip!

This is going to be a very short entry but I wanted to write for just a few minutes about our
Easter camping trip. Our family has been going camping on Easter for as long as I can remember and for the past several years the Curry/Bradford, Martin/Blackburn/Campbell and Goforth families have been going with us.

This trip is really so much fun! It is so much fun just cooking food around the camp fire and sleeping in our cozy tents. I really LOVE getting all bundled up in the tent and then getting up in the morning and drinking hot chocolate! I also love the scenery of this place. We have been going on the same waterfall hike for years and years and it never gets old. All of the guys jump in the water where it says not to and usually almost get sucked down by the current. My husband especially. This year Betho came running over to be and said "Kayla you should actually be worried, Lance is going to kill himself" Ha, luckily he survived! I even made the scary treck down to the bottom of the waterfall this year. I must add that I am always last and for some reason am the SLOWEST rock climber/walker in the world, I'm not scared so it is still a mystery to me why I am always last! It is usually all of our first time to be in the sun for the year too so I am always burned! I actually did good this year by not getting burned but instead stayed really pale! :( On Sunday (Easter) we always go to this scenic overlook at the top of the hill and have church. It is the best way I can imagine having Easter Sunday. We all sing songs, sometimes awkwardly forgetting the words, and it sounds so pretty up on the top of the hill. One of our parents always leads church and of course Mr. Curry leads singing! I really do look forward to this trip every year! I can't wait until next year!!
I think I can easily say that camping is my favorite thing to do for fun. I hope Lance and I go on hundreds of camping trips over the years! I am counting down the days to the Agan/Bradford Colorado camping trip this summer! :)

Precious little minds!

This may not be so cute to everyone else because you don't know these kiddos. But I must share with y'all what the kids in my class said when I asked them why they loved God. Some are really sweet. Keep in mind they are 4 & 5 yrs old!

I Love God Because...

1. He went to cross for our sins, but he is still alive in our hearts and is with us everyday.

2. He made me and he is the best God ever.

3. Because God is taking care of my Daddy ( this little girl's Dad died this summer)

4. Because my grandma is having fun with him in Heaven.

5. Because he protects me and sprays his magical powers on the Devil.

6. Because he died on the cross for us.

Kids have no idea how much they already know about God. So sweet!!

On a different note, DO NOT WATCH I AM LEGEND! We rented it and are watching it right now and it is soooo scary and depressing!

Happy soon to be Friday! I am so ready for the weekend! :)

Birthday Fun

Here are a few pics of my super fun 23rd birthday! The night before these pictures my amazing parents took us to a really nice restaurant and we got to eat some wonderful food. The next night we went to Pappasitos (of course) and then went bowling! I never thought that would be what I would want to do on my birthday but it was the best choice ever! They even gave us t-shirts that said "I had my birthday at Palace Lanes!" Oh to be a kid again!

Heather also came into town for the weekend and it was so much fun hanging out with her. It is so sad when you graduate from college and all of your friends get scattered all over the country (or world BRITTNEY) and you only see them on ever now and then. :( Sometimes I still can't believe that we all have real job and some of us are married! WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN!? I mean I love my life and LOOOOVE being married. It is just hard to believe that we are actually adults now with real adult lives!
Ok enjoy the pics!

Houston Rodeo!

Lance and I went to the rodeo and it was so much fun. I don't like country music at all, however everything was great. The highlight of the day was the livestock show. There were little piglets that were less than a day old and a calf that was 3 hours old. We also saw a baby chick hatch out of its shell. It was the sweetest/saddest little thing. The poor little chick looked absolutely defeated. Here are a few pics.

The less than a day old piglets eating!

Some older little piggies!

The 3 hours old calf. It was soooo cute!

Life lesson for all!

So today I had a suuuuper duuuper terrible awful day! I had to confront someone at work and confrontation makes me super stressed. ANYWAY.....after leaving work I was kinda feeling like someone had run over me with a car and I just wanted to get home, take a nap and then get up and go eat Fajitas with Lance at Pappisitos (the cure all of any situation for me). So I get into my car and am so anxious to get home and start my good night. As I pull out onto the street a white van in front of me comes to a dead stop at a green light and for some reason is just NOT moving! I mean just sitting at the green light. So in my moment of frustration and 7 hours of chaos not to far behind me I LAY on my horn and motion "Go"! Less than 15 seconds later I see three little faces, one of whom belongs in my class!!!! I honked at my kids!! So now to some of my students I am no longer nice Mrs. Kayla. I am that crazy honking lady in the green beetle!! Uggh I wish I wasn't the only person in that school that had a bright green car. I am preparing what I am going to say to that mom in the morning. Less than three minutes before this I had just gotten my girl scout cookies from her daughter and I owe her $7 in the morning. Maybe I should just give her a 20 and call it even!! The funny thing is that all day during this confrontation situation I was to scared to say anything and should have probably been more bold. When I do decide to act like and idiot I do it to my classroom mom. I am doubting I get good goodie bags at the Easter party! :(

Oprah making a very sad mistake!

I am so sad about this entry because I LOVE Oprah and think her show is wonderful! However, I truly feel that Satan is using Oprah to do some very terrible work in our world. Oprah is scheduled to begin a new radio series where she will spend ONE YEAR and do almost 400 lessons on a book completely focused on New Age teachings! This makes me very sad for Oprah considering she is just another lost person in our world, that has let the terrible enemy blind her from the truth. However, when I think about Satan in this entire thing it makes me absolutely livid!! He has managed trick the most influential woman in the world into believing his lies! Considering people (including me sometimes) hang on ever word Oprah says this could be a huge victory for the evil one. Considering that Oprah can sell out SCRABBLE in 4 hours just by putting it on her "favoriter Things" show should be a huge indicator on the amount of power her words have.

I think as christians we should all start to pray for the enemy to be defeated in this situation. I am going to start praying that this program isn't widely accepted and that Oprah will somehow see the truth in all the lies. Satan is so discusting and I cannot wait for the day when God squashes his discusting little self into the pit of fire! Anyway, all we can do now is STOP supporting Oprah and pray for some good to come out of this situation. As Christian thats all we can so and I trust if we do out part God will take care of the rest!

Yay for it being Thursday! I don't know about everyon else but this week has been SUPER TIRING for me!!! I need tomorrow at 3:45 to come soon!

P.S.
I had SOOO much fun at Sing Song! It was so good to see everyone & CONGRATS the the Kojies for winning! Sigs did good too.....I did love the bowling pins! :)

My Hubby!

I know this entry is going to really embarass Lance but I am going to go ahead and do it anyway!

I just had to share with the world how AMAZING my husband is! I don't know how I would make it without him! Here are just a few of the things that Lance does that make my life wonderful! Lance helps me clean, cook, unload the dishwasher, he does the laundry, he calls me at work and helps me get through my super tiring days, he takes care of ALL of our finances....rent...bills...depositing money..ect., he never forgets an anniversery, he runs on the treadmill next to me and I know he doesn't love it, he brings me little surprises, he is always up for anything fun & spontaneous, he supports me pursuing a masters degree, he listens to my endless chattering about life, clothes, my hair, you name it and I have never once heard him complain, he understands that I am incapable of talking to people before 7:00am and is so sweet to me in the morning, he can sense when I need help or am stressed and helps me without me ever asking. I could go on forever! I am just so thankful that I have such a wonderful hubby!

People say that you act like the people you spend most of your time around. I hope this is true becauase I think I spend most of my time around the best human being in the world! If Lance rubs off on me I'm in good shape!

I am VERY lucky!! :) I thank God for Lance everyday!
